Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that uses a device with fine, sterile needles to create tiny micro-injuries in the skin. These controlled punctures stimulate the body’s natural healing process, boosting collagen and elastin production—essential for firm, smooth, and youthful-looking skin.

The procedure begins with cleansing the skin and applying a numbing cream for comfort. A microneedling device—either a pen or roller—is then passed over the treatment area, creating microchannels in the skin. These channels can also help enhance the absorption of topical serums applied during or after the treatment.

Microneedling can improve the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, large pores, uneven skin tone, and overall skin texture. Most people notice an initial glow within a few days, but the full results—firmer, smoother, more radiant skin—typically appear within 4 to 6 weeks as collagen remodeling takes place. A series of 3 to 6 treatments, spaced about 4 weeks apart, is usually recommended for best results.
